Magda Cârneci is a poet, prose writer, translator and art critic in Romania, where she has become a leading voice among the poets whose careers began just before the fall of Communism in 1989. Honored with prizes and grants from the Fulbright Foundation, Getty Trust, European Union, and more, in 2013, she won the Romanian Writers’ Union career prize Opera Omnia. Her poems have been translated into thirteen languages and have appeared in numerous anthologies. In 2021, her novel FEM was published by Deep Vellum, translated by Sean Cotter. Translations of Cârneci’s work by Adam J.
